Casamicciola Terme is the oldest thermal center on Ischia. Located on the greenest northern side of the island, surrounded by Mt Epomeo, it is famous for the therapeutical properties of its waters since 16th century. The woods of Maddalena and the crater of the extinct vulcano offer wonderful walks and picnic areas as an alternative to the seafront walk, which goes from Perrone Beach and the marina to the Marina Square: a real open air sitting room, lively and welcoming. The Hotel-residence Ischia Casa della Vela (Ischia Home of Sailing) is only a few minutes away from the centre but immersed in greenery and tranquillity.
