Our boat is "Istria": an X372, a reliable means of navigation with a well-known sailing pedigree. With an overall length of 37.2 ft and a 5 ton displacement, it is surely the right boat on wich to learn offshore sailing under careful guidance.
We don't use furling jib or furling mainsail on "Istria": the crew must learn how to rise , drop and reef sails using the proper techniques of true offshore sailing.
Once the students have mastered these techniques with us, they will be able to evaluate the limits and the range of application of easier cruising and racing techniques such as the different sail furling devices available today.
