Broght up in Ischia, Andrea Proto learnt his love of the sea from his father during family cruises and yacht races for pleasure and made of this passion his work.
He has taken part in many races, including the 1989 and 1993 Withbread round-the-world races, sailing on Gatorade and on Brooksfield, the 1991 and 1993 Fastnet, the 1994 Sidney Obarth.
He has skippered boats from England across the oceans, he was bosun on square rigged training ships in Australia, rock lobster fisherman, sailing coach also of children with mental disabilities and behavioural difficulties, captain on luxury charter yachts, worker in repair shipyards, later manager of his own boat repair and management business: through these numerous and various experiences in different parts of the world, Andrea has gained deep knowledge of the dynamics which link people with other people, with the boat, with the enviroment around them.
Back in Ischia again, he wants to pass on his experience and his love on the sea to all those who are looking for a different contact with it.
